Sicky sick sick

Here's the thing about being sick when you're pregnant:

Your body doesn't actually work to make you better.

Nope. See, your immune system is shut down as soon as the baby happens, so that it doesn't start attacking the gestating person. (invader!!) So first of all, it's way easier to get sick. All my manager at Some Crust had to do was tell me that he had bronchitis all last week, and I started coughing. It's only been getting better since.

But then, since your body is in a weakened state, and since your immune system is off on sabbatical, your body is all, oooh, you're sick, PROTECT THE TINY ONE! and you're all, look, I appreciate how invested you are in growing this baby, but I'd like to feel better, too, and it's all, nonsense. Just how qualified do you think I am? So I can drink as much tea and gatorade and orange juice as I want (and believe me, I am), but it's all going straight to the uterus.

So please don't expect a week 27 picture.
